Rose French performed selections from the Modular Suite last weekend at the Hornswoggle in Jemez Springs, NM.  The performance was a big success, and the work was well-recieved by the other horn players at the hootenanny.  For my part, I think I’m finally done with the last two movements of the work!  I spent the last few days polishing a solo movement (based loosely on the famous etudes of Maxime-Alphonse and Kopprasch) and completing a slower, declamatory movement that I’ve called “Rhetoricisims” (I guess I’m channeling Persichetti or Copland or Barber).

I’m sending the rest of the work off to Rose in the next couple of days, and then it’s Brisbane or bust!

Now onto a new work for the orchestra at Iowa State University, and some other new projects!
